JFK Field Trip Reflection

1. Three things I learned about JFK on the field trip to his library that I did not know before were, JFK did a lot of things for handy cap children. Also, JFK was very into sailing and that is way he joined the Navy. Lastly, JFK had eight siblings, one being Robert Kennedy.

2. The elements of the trip I found most interesting were the space station room. I thought the space suit displayed was extremely fascinating. Another element of the trip that i found interesting was the room about Jackie Kennedy. She was a fashion icon of her time and was just as famous as JFK.

3. I think that the field trip could be improved if the classroom portion of the trip was eliminated. Also, i think if one of the instructors showed us around the museum and taught us as we saw things it would have been a better learning experience. Something that i wish we had learned more about was who JFK really was outside his presidency.

4. JFK is known as one of the best presidents in all of American history. Everyone has their own opinions on JFK, but i agree with the majority. I think that JFK was one of the best American presidents. He is so well-known because he broke the mold on what a normal president was. JFK was youthful, good looking, and a family man. I think that is why so many Americans loved JFK. Also, JFK had great ideas for the future. Some of these ideas were getting onto the moon, helping the poor, environmental conservation, and equality for women and African Americans. JFK never got to follow through with these ideas because he was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, the ideas stuck with president Johnson. Johnson was able to follow through with the ideas and plans that JFK came up with. If JFK was not as famous intelligent as he was, these ideas he had may have never been accomplished. We could still be living in a segregated world.
